3.1.14 Medical/Behavioral Problems of Employees

Policy

The University strongly encourages employees who are in conditions or circumstances that lead to problems such as those of an alcoholic, drug, or psychological nature to obtain assistance through appropriate resources, including the resources available at the University. The Employee Assistance Program offers information and referral services to persons who are experiencing problems which affect their ability to function normally either at home or work. The decision to seek diagnosis and accept treatment is the responsibility of the employee. University action regarding individual problems of this nature is initiated only when such problems result in unsatisfactory job performance and/or excessive absenteeism.
