Policy

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all Illinois State University employees, retirees, their family members, and domestic partners.. The EAP offers information and referral services to persons who are experiencing problems which affect their ability to function normally either at home or work.

Referrals

Three types of referrals can be made: 1) self referral, 2) supervisory referral, or 3) personal concern referral (made by any concerned person).

Confidentiality

The EAP is a voluntary program that is strictly confidential. Participation in the EAP does not jeopardize the employee's job or reputation. Contacts with the EAP will not be made known to anyone without the client's permission.

Problems Addressed

Any problem that affects a person's ability to function normally can be addressed. These include, but are not limited to,   problems concerning alcohol and drugs, anxiety or depression, coping with a death or other loss, finances, relationships, legal matters, illness, stress, insomnia, etc.

Accessing the EAP

Clients may contact the EAP coordinator at the Energy House, e-mail maschm@ilstu.edu or phone 438-8842. The coordinator will meet with clients at a site convenient for the client.
