7.1.44 Fiscal Agent Change

Policy

The fiscal agent is the person who is responsible for all fiscal matters concerning an account. The fiscal agent is assigned to an account by the Vice-President of the area or his/her designee. Generally, the person assigning the fiscal agent is one reporting level above the level where the fiscal agent resides. For example, the Dean of a college would assign the fiscal agent to departments within their college.

From time to time it is necessary to change the fiscal agent assigned to an account (Fiscal Agent Appointment Form) An example of this occurs when a department chair leaves the University. A new fiscal agent would have to be assigned to the accounts that were this department chair's responsibility.
